Lab Intern

Redox Bio-Nutrients is looking for a motivated lab intern to join our formulation science team for a 6-month placement focused on biostimulant product development. You’ll work hands-on developing and optimizing formulations that combine beneficial substances, natural extracts, microorganisms and plant compounds, supporting our R&D team from lab scale experiments through to stability and up-scale testing. This role is ideal for a student or recent graduate with a strong foundation in organic/inorganic chemistry and microbiology who wants practical experience in applied formulation science within agriculture and biotech.

Roles / Responsibilities of this position include:
– Assist in the design, preparation, and testing of biostimulant formulations under the guidance of senior formulation scientists
– Conduct bench-scale experiments including mixing, reacting, dilutions, pH adjustments, and stability/shelf-life, chemical testing
– Support microbiological assays relevant to biostimulant products (e.g., spore/propagule viability counts, contamination checks, strain identification, culture maintenance)
– Prepare and maintain culture media, substrates, and reagents following standard protocols
– Support fermentation and multiplication trials of beneficial microorganisms used in formulations
– Record and analyze experimental data; maintain accurate lab notebooks in line with GLP practices
– Help troubleshoot formulation issues (viability loss, stability, viscosity, homogeneity)
– Support scale-up trials from lab to pilot scale as needed
– Collaborate with R&D, QA/QC, and production teams on ongoing formulation projects
– Assist with literature reviews and technical documentation to support formulation development

Candidate Requirements:
– Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology or a related field
– Solid understanding of organic and inorganic chemistry fundamentals (reactions, functional groups, analytical techniques)
– Basic knowledge of microbiology (aseptic technique, culturing, microbial identification)
– Comfortable working with lab equipment (balances, pH meters, centrifuges, autoclaves, microscopes, etc.)
– Strong attention to detail and good record-keeping habits
– Ability to follow safety protocols and standard operating procedures

Preferred:
– Prior lab or internship experience (academic or industry)
– Familiarity with formulation science (emulsions, suspensions, solutions, powders, or similar)
-Experience with fermentation or microbial culture production
– Interest in biostimulants, biocontrol, or sustainable agriculture
– Basic data analysis skills (Excel, or similar)
